Where Can I Use My Points?

TAFER Residence Club is affiliated with TAFER Resorts and has use rights in all existing and developing TAFER Group properties.  TAFER Residence Club members can use Garza Blanca Los Cabos, VDP Cancun, Garza Blanca Cancun, Garza Blanca Puerto Vallarta, Hotel Mousai, Sierra Lago and Garza properties in development. They can use Garza Blanca and VDP Cancun points (CNC or GB) to book.  Garza Blanca points may NOT be used at Villa del Palmar Resorts in Puerto Vallarta and Cabo, or in Loreto. If a Garza Blanca member also has Club Caribe (VDP Cancun/CNC) points, those VDP Cancun points can be used at Villa Group Resorts.

TAFER Residence Club Members Reservations •Can be made at any TAFER resort 24 months in advance Banking Deadline •November 1 st

Guest Reservations •You may send a guest to the resort to use your week for a Guest Certificate Fee of $35. •If your guest is under the age of 25 , a deposit of $500 must be provided. •Member benefits only apply to those on the contract and are non-transferable.

*Bank/Banking - The act of saving an unused Use Period in the Vacation Bank for use in later years up to the number of years allowed in the Rules and Regulations. Borrow/Borrowing - The act of borrowing time from years in the future to be used in the current Calendar Year. Accelerated Points - Accelerate the use of Use Periods or Club Points from the end of the contracted Use Period. The total amount of existing points and accelerated points during any calendar year may not exceed a total of two years. The benefit of the accelerated points is separate and independent of the rent or lease of club points mentioned in the regulation.

Biennial Membership

Biennial Members are NOT entitled to use Accelerated Points benefits. Biennial Members may only bank or borrow Club Points into the next use period. Biennial Members may only split a use period, or banked or borrowed club points, for season upgrades and not for suite size upgrades. Consistent with the Governing Documents, a Biennial Member may rent up to 50% of the amount of Club Points owned .

Preferred Time (Non-Contract Extra Points Benefit)

 Tafer Residence Club members get a second set of points with their purchase – called Preferred Points (Extra non-contracted points available under certain conditions)  You only pay the maintenance fee according to the points to be used when booking. These are booked through the Club, based on availability.  Can be booked up to 12 months prior to reservation start date, subject to availability  You have access to additional points per year for a max use of 14 days nights not exceeding number of points owned  Reservation time is available from weeks 18 - 43 (May through October)  At least one member must be present.  Cannot be rented out  Can be used to trade with RCI, full week only  Cannot be vacation banked, borrowed or accelerated  You can select the size unit you need and pay only the associated maintenance fee.  May only be divided into smaller amounts.  Cannot be used at Hotel Mousai  Preferred points cannot be combined with contract points / banked points / borrowed points unless 60 days to arrival  Restrictions apply for biennial memberships

“Club Time” – Additional Nights in Advance

• Prior to arriving – Members can book extra nights based on availability. Special member pricing based on prorated rack rates. • Booked with resort inventory. “ Extended Night Stays” – Additional Nights While on Property • Allowable for TRC members year-round • Must be on-site – member can choose: • Pay 1/7 of the maintenance fee for the size unit requested – based on resort occupancy (below 80% occupancy) • 30% - 40% off hotel rack rate – based on resort occupancy • Booked with resort while on property

Extending Your Trip

Modifying/Cancelling Your Reservation

Members have one modification / cancellation per year with no fee if more than 30 days in advance. You can modify/cancel your reservation within 24 hours after booking your reservation with no cost. You can modify/cancel your reservation 31 days or more in advance with a fee of $100 once you use the benefit of the one free. You can modify/cancel your reservation 30 days or less for a fee of $200.

Holiday time – cancellations or modifications over 30 days $150, 30 days or less $250

If you do not show up for your confirmed reservation, there is a No-Show fee of $250

Room assignments are done according to membership type: Elite / Club VIP* / TRC / Hotel VIP / RCI / Hotel / Rentals or Referrals

• Members cannot request a specific room, building and floor; this is subject to availability upon check-in. • Note to members who rent out their time via Airbnb or directly to friends: these reservations are considered Guest of Member reservations, not member reservations, and therefore do not receive member benefits.

TRC members are provided a Membership discount added to their room folios, and receive a 10% discount on food and beverage, hotel, spa, Market/Shop and Activities. Discounts applied at Front Desk. No tour necessary .

The concierge can offer you a VIP card for additional discounts ONLY if you go to the Members’ Update Presentation. VIP Cards are provided solely through the Marketing Department in each destination and are separate from membership benefits. VIP Card discounts are subject to marketing costs and may vary by provider.

Elite members also receive an Elite 15% discount. No presentation necessary.

Exchange Program - Means a service provided by an External Exchange Company or by Internal Exchange processes whereby Members may exchange (1) their Use Periods in Club Projects, and/or (2) the Suite size specified on their Membership Certificate, for time periods in resorts at other locations, and Exchange Users may exchange time in other resorts for Use Periods in Club Projects.

You will need to call the Club to notify them of your desire to exchange your week and they will help you through the process.

In any year you can accelerate up to 1 year from the back of your contract for a total of 2 years (unless 5 Star or Residence)

Accelerated Use Accelerate the use of Use Periods or Club Points from the end of the contracted Use Period or Club Points under a Membership

Accelerated points* may not be used during certain holiday and blackout periods, unless 5 Star or Residence.

Preferred Points may not be accelerated.

Unused accelerated points can be vacation banked. At time of obtaining any accelerated points, member must pay in full all the Maintenance Fees for those Accelerated Points. If the account runs out of points by using the accelerated program, it is still considered a member through the remainder of the contract. Can still use “Preferred Points” in summer, rent Club Time during winter season, buy special promos and getaways.

Accelerated Points* - (“Accelerated Points”). The total amount of existing and Accelerated Club Points during any one Calendar Year may not exceed a total of two years, unless 5 Star or Residence.

What is the difference between Borrow VS Acceleration?

 Vacation Borrowing is available for all membership types. The number of years available to borrow is based on level of membership. Annual members can borrow up to 5 years from the front of their contracts, and Maintenance Fee must be paid for each year borrowed. Elite Residence Club members can borrow up to 10 years, Biennial members can only borrow to the next use year. **If MF increases for the Borrowed year, member is responsible to cover the difference at time of MF billing season.  Acceleration - Annual member can accelerate 1 year from the back end of the membership with at least 30% of purchase price paid. Elite 5* & Residence, allows member to bring 4 full sets of points from back end of membership at current’s year Maintenance Fee (fights inflation). The total amount of existing and Accelerated Club Points during any one Calendar Year may not exceed a total of five years.

Don’t fall for scammers or their scams!

 Even when it can be hard to spot scammers, it is not impossible to do so. Scammers rely on various tactics to obtain information. The most common ones are using social media or calling members to gather data and directly calling the member and asking them direct questions. During the chat or call, they may offer gifts, make false promises, or use high-pressure sales tactics to get their desires.

 So, when you doubt whether you are talking to an actual Member counselor, call us or send us a message, we will let you know if they are trying to scam you!

Club Recommendations

Follow these tips to protect yourself, your family, and your friends from scammers! • Familiarize yourself with potential vacation ownership scams. • Ignore any offer involving paying more than the original price to exit your contract. • Don't give personal information to unknown people. • Do not pay upfront fees or taxes for services you have not received. • Always check the reviews and reputation of the company that is contacting you. • Google the business address and see if they have an office. If they do, call the office's number. • Don't send a wire transfer after receiving an unsolicited telephone call or email. • Contact a trusted legal or financial expert before making any decisions. • If the person is forcing you for the information, you are probably under a scam attack. • Prior to conducting any transaction, confirm that the reseller's agents are licensed to sell real estate in the same location as your property. Work only with licensed real estate brokers and agents and verify their licenses through the state's licensing agency.

• Why is there no availability when I call the Club, but I can book nights on websites like Expedia.com? Tafer Resorts were built by the developer, Tafer Development Group. As each week is sold to Club membership, the developer gives one week of space to the Club. For example, If the developer has sold 75% of weeks to the Club, the developer owns the remaining 25% of inventory, and may sell it to wholesale companies like Expedia or other wholesalers. Therefore, you might see advertisements on-line for

space when you cannot book it through the Club. • Member Discount Card vs. VIP Card Discounts

10% Discount Cards are provided automatically for all TRC, and VIP1 members without a presentation. Elite members receive a 15% discount card without attending a presentation. To receive the VIP discount members are required to attend a members update presentation every stay they wish to obtain the discount. Discounts are given solely through the Marketing Department in each destination

and are completely separate from membership benefits. • Do I have to attend an update meeting on every vacation?

Members automatically receive a 10% discount card with no presentation required. To receive the VIP discount, members are required to attend a members update presentation every stay they wish to obtain the discount. We recognize not everyone wants to attend a presentation while they are on vacation, which is why we offer the VIP discount as an incentive to those that attend. • Upgrades subject to availability, no guarantees The complimentary upgrade is an Elite member benefit provided if space is available in the Club Inventory upon check-in. The inventory allotments and assignments follow a very thorough process at our vacation ownership properties. For every membership sold, the Club receives the corresponding inventory from the Developer. Although the Club is allocated a significant amount of inventory, a portion of the inventory is available to the resort developer who purchased the land and built the resort. Therefore, there may be rooms available at a discounted rate through the developer but not available to the Club. • Why can’t I request a specific unit or location prior to arrival? Due to the volume of room requests at the resorts, the Club is not able to guarantee room requests prior to arrival. These are subject to availability (on a first-come, first-served basis). If you should have special requirements based on a medical condition, please contact the Club so that we may make arrangements for you.

FAQ

• What is the difference between co-owner and beneficiary? A co-owner refers to multiple members on the contract. Co-owners can be added or removed at any time, and all co-owners share an equal responsibility with the membership. A beneficiary is a ´´ tentative ´´ person that could take over a membership as primary if all original members were to be deceased. A beneficiary has no rights or responsibility to the membership without a statement or will from prior to member’s passing. • Can I use the pools and other resort facilities at the sister properties in the region? You are Welcome to use the Restaurants at all sister hotels (Reservations are required; meal plan restrictions may apply.) HOWEVER, the use of pool areas are restricted to the resort at which you are staying. Regarding the spa, only Elite members have access to wet areas, other members must have a spa service scheduled. • What is a Wait List and how does this work? In order to accommodate high levels of use and demand for certain periods of the Calendar Year for certain Projects, the Club Manager shall have the right to establish a special reservation wait list for those days which are unavailable to the Members due to heavy booking. • Can I share my member benefits with my family and friends? Benefits apply to those who are on the contract and are not provided to every guest of member visiting the resort. • Being an Elite member with multiple independent reservations on one trip, should I get the welcome amenities on each reservation? Welcome benefit is applied only once, even with multiple week stays. However, room amenities can be refreshed once per week by request.

• What happens if I run out of points (10 years) by using the accelerating program, am I still considered a member through the 50-year contract? Can I still use the “preferred points” in summer or rent Club Time during winter season? Per contract, you are part of the Club until expiration date, and can use Preferred Points, Club Time, and buy special promos and getaways. • What is Optimal Use? “Optimal” refers to the flexibility and value of the points you have purchased. Club points may be used in any type or suite, or any Season as referred to in the Club Use Schedule and Points Table. FAQ
